The SmartCane service includes the complete vertical pipeline from last mile field delivery to our esteemed customers, all the way up to the satellite data transformation with tailored algorithms, deep learning and AI-applications.

Satellites and Sugarcane
Sugarcane is a commodity crop, growing as a monocrop in larger areas. The above ground biomass is what is harvested and processed. This crop is very visible from space. Specifically, the health of the crop, key to production, is visible with remote sensing data. SmartCane bv has developed algorithms that provide operational guidance for growers. Focusing on trends, day-by-day developments in the field, highlighting the onset of change. Replacing parts of the scouting, and turning the rough, hot, sweaty field conditions into an objective data-based production system.
In our view, it will only take time before sugarcane growers all use satellite data as part of their daily farm operations.
