Data Security & Privacy

At SmartCane, we take the security and privacy of your data very seriously. SmartCane protects farmer, estate and client data using strong encryption and secure storage systems. We only collect the data needed to deliver the service and give you control over how your information is used where possible.

Your data is processed in compliance with applicable data protection laws, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We never sell your data or use it for any unrelated purposes; it is used only to provide insights and support sustainable sugarcane farming.

All technical data files (CSV, GIS and related outputs) are delivered in a secure manner and treated as confidential. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse of data.

Service Levels & Reliability

SmartCane delivers weekly field reports using satellite remote sensing and crop analytics, designed to support largescale sugarcane operations. We aim to provide reports on or before the agreed weekly deadline in at least 50 weeks per contract year, allowing for one week of planned maintenance.

At least 99% of your fields are covered each week, subject to unavoidable constraints such as cloud cover. Data files (CSV, GIS) are delivered free from critical errors and corruption that would prevent automated use. We continuously monitor data quality and work with you to maintain and improve service performance.

If special conditions or technical issues affect coverage or timing, we will notify you promptly and provide a clear explanation of the impact and expected recovery.
